Application:
Potassium hydroxide can be divided into food grade and industrial grade. Industrial grade 99% potassium hydroxide is mainly used in leather, paper making, printing and dyeing, sewage treatment and other fields; Food grade potassium hydroxide is mainly used in pharmaceutical intermediates, various potassium salts, food additive ingredients, food processing container cleaning, chemical book detoxification and other fields. Sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide are the raw materials for making hand soaps, both of which are strong alkalis. However, after the completion of hand soaps, their alkalinity becomes soap due to saponification with oil, and the alkalinity will continue to decline. After 1-2 months, their alkalinity will drop to below 9, and will not cause serious damage to the skin.
Potassium hydroxide is mainly used as raw material for potash production, such as Potassium permanganate, potassium carbonate, etc. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used to produce potassium borohydride, spironolactone, salbutamol, progesterone, and testosterone propionate.
